Magnesium Oxide Backed Brick Cladding
Magnesium Oxide backed brick cladding
This system is an ideal solution for schemes where the brick facade system needs to be an exact match to adjoining traditionally built brickwork, and can be used as a total or partially clad solution.
The faux brick facade panels can be efficiently produced off-site under factory conditions, in large volumes. This contributes to a reduction in wet trades on-site and reduced scaffolding time, all contributing to a shorter project programme and lower costs.
A consistency in the brick finish can be achieved by ensuring that the bricks are collected from site and cut into slips before being fabricated onto the lightweight backing boards using epoxy resin. On request, the panels can arrive on site pre-pointed, which would completely remove this wet trade from site.
The Magneisum Oxide back brick cladding system was recently selected for use on a brand new hotel four star hotel in Shoreditch. The Curtain is a 120 room new build hotel, private members’ club and restaurant with an urban industrial aesthetic inspired by its location. Dexter Moren Associates led the development of this conceptual venue for client Gansevoort Hotel Group (GHG) - famous for its two stunning hotels in New York, The Curtain is the first venture for GHG in Europe.
The design for this brand new, exciting and vibrant venue reflects the young, chic brand style synonymous with its sister hotels in New York, whilst responding to the rich industrial heritage and gritty East-End cool of the local Shoreditch neighbourhood, giving it an identity of its own.The venue also features destination restaurant The Red Rooster, several bars, conference facilities, screening room, live music venue, spa, barber shop and the Gansevoort signature style roof terrace & pool.
The Curtain hotel has recently been shortlisted for The International Hotel and Property Awards 2018.
System 1 is the rectangular brick faced panel where the slips between the adjoining panels are fabricated on site once the panels have been installed.
This system is most suited to vertical elevations where repetition in the panel size is required.
System two offers a more bespoke brick cladding solution which is designed to specifically fit the areas required on site.
The interlocking cladding panel system is installed to the substrate with the relevant fixing system and fits seamlessly with the adjoining panels, with no need for fixings of any slips on site. This provides a very efficient installation.
This system is ideal for both vertical elevations and soffit application.
